McKittrick Park and green space at the Fort Rouge Leisure Centre site, located on Rathgar Avenue between Cockburn Street and Lilac Street, serve the Lord Roberts area and currently features a wading pool, softball diamond and a play structure.
Approximately $200,000 was available through the City's Parks and Recreation Enhancement Fund (PREP) for improvements at McKittrick Park and the green space located at the northeast corner of the Fort Rouge Leisure Centre site where lawn bowling was located.
Engage
Thank you to everyone who participated in the public engagement process. We asked the community to share their vision for both sites to ensure that the proposed concept plans meet with residents' visions and needs for the area. Public input gathered as part of this public engagement process led to a site plan for green space improvements at McKittrick Park and at the Fort Rouge Leisure Centre site's northeast corner (where the lawn bowling green was located). Our online survey closed May 2, 2017 with 105 submissions. Thank you to everyone who joined us at an open house April 25, 2017 at the Fort Rouge Leisure Centre. There were 18 visitors and 10 exit surveys completed.
