Protection of privacy
The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) govern the City of Winnipeg’s collection, use, and disclosure of personal and personal health information collected for the purpose of City programs, activities, functions, and services.
Both Acts place obligations, limitations, and responsibilities on the City pertaining to all use, disclosure, retention, security, and destruction of such personal information.
Apart from the exceptions laid out in the Acts, the City cannot collect, use, or share your personal information without your consent.

You also have the right to make a complaint about the handling of your personal information to the Manitoba Ombudsman.
