June 2015
Congratulations to the 24 youth who’ve graduated from the Future Is Yours Program!
June 26, 2015

June 25, 2015 was a memorable day for 24 Aboriginal youth who’ve graduated from Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre’s Future Is Yours program. The event took place at Ma Mawi’s 445 King Street location, where proud family members and friends came together in support of the graduates to celebrate their gifts, talents and achievements. Youth also had the opportunity to share their inspiring stories to all of the guests.
The Future Is Yours program is open to Aboriginal youth between the ages of 15 to 21 who are looking to gain valuable employability skills, volunteer experience, training and mentorship to improve their employment potential! The program also incorporates a variety of personal development and Aboriginal cultural awareness opportunities, as well prepares youth for City of Winnipeg and Province of Manitoba summer employment.

Our Friends at the CEC Youth Role Model Awards
June 2, 2015

Check out our friends from the Aboriginal Relations Division having fun at the Citizen's Equity Committee's Youth Role Model Awards.
Every year, The City of Winnipeg's Aboriginal Relations Division and the Citizen's Equity Committee team up to deliver a monetary award program to youth between the ages of 15 to 24, followed by a celebration event.
The Youth Role Model Award was formed to recognize and celebrate youth from diverse communities in Winnipeg, towards the effort of building a harmonious, vibrant, multicultural and inclusive society. It's also an approach to honour the young people who brought remarkable contributions to his/her community and display positive role modeling.
