Travel Training Program
The Travel Training program provides individuals with instruction on how to use Winnipeg Transit’s fixed-route service. The travel trainer offers a PowerPoint presentation in a group training session that reviews the Winnipeg Transit service, including bus features, helpful tips for travel, new technologies such as iBus and other transit tools for ease in route planning.
The program also includes a City bus ride that represents a similar route a person may take when using Transit. This service is free to all participating groups.
Ride By Route Number
Winnipeg Transit identifies bus routes by a route number, route name and route destination. The route name is usually the major street on which the bus travels. The route destination shows where the bus is going.
Bus Stop Signs
Bus stop signs show this information:
- The nearest cross street or destination
- The bus stop number
- The Telebus phone number
- The route numbers for stop location
Telebus
Each bus stop in Winnipeg shows a five digit bus stop number When you call Telebus at 204-287-7433, and enter the five digit number, a recorded message will tell you when the bus will arrive at that bus stop.
Visit Telebus for more information.
Transfers
Ask for a transfer when you pay your fare. Transfers are valid on the date they are issued. They allow you to ride the bus until the expiry time shown on the transfer. This includes a return trip on the same route.
