Definitions
The following service requests (SR) are currently being tracked on ServiceStat. Each service request type is based on an incident location and has a target which estimates how long it will take to fulfill a service request. Targets are based on historical data and trends and may be exceeded in unusual circumstances.
AutoBin Overflowing |
This SR is used to report an AutoBin that is full of household garbage before the scheduled pick-up day. Target: 2 business days. Note: Icons are based on historical data. | |
Boulevard Mowing |
This SR is used to request grass be cut on city-owned property. Target: 10 business days | |
Tree Pest Caterpillar Complaint |
This SR is used to report tree pest damage to trees on public property. The City will use the data as part of its tree pest control program. Target: 3 business days | |
*Dog Complaint | This SR is used to report a barking dog complaint. Target: 1 day | |
Frozen Catch Basin | This SR is used to report a frozen catch basin that is resulting in water accumulating on a street/backlane. Target: 3-9 days, depending on the severity of hazard. | |
*Graffiti | This SR is used to request the removal of graffiti on private and public property. Target: 2-25 business days, depending on severity of incident | |
Litter Container Complaint |
This SR is used to report a overflowing city-owned litter container. Target: 3 business days | |
Missed Garbage Collection |
This SR is used to report a missed scheduled garbage collection. Target: 2 business days | |
Missed Recycling Collection |
This SR is used report a missed scheduled recycling collection. Target: 2 business days | |
*Mosquito |
This SR is used to report high levels of adult mosquito activity. The City will use the data as part of its nuisance mosquito control program. Target: 3 business days | |
*Neighbourhood Liveability Complaint |
This SR is used to report properties that must be maintained to the standards in the Neighbourhoood Liveability By-law. The By-law prohibits the existence of objects and conditions that pose health, safety, fire or accident hazards to people, animals or neighbouring properties. Target: 10 business days | |
Potholes |
This SR is used to report a pothole on the surface of a public street. Target: 3-90 days, depending on severity of hazard | |
Sanding |
This SR is used to report a snow/icy condition which could cause injury or inhibit the movement of traffic or pedestrians on roads or sidewalks. Target: 3-8 days, depending on severity of hazard | |
*Sewer Backup | This SR is used to report wastewater and/or land drainage water in the basement of a dwelling. Target: 4 hours | |
Sidewalk Repairs |
This SR is used to report a hazardous condition on a public sidewalk. The City will investigate and make the required repairs. Target: 2-120 days, depending on severity of hazard | |
Snow Removal – Roads |
This SR is used to request snow removal on a street, back lane, around a fire hydrant or bus shelter, or on a front approach. The City will investigate and resolve the condition. Target: 3-9 days, depending on severity of hazard | |
Snow Removal – Sidewalks |
This SR is used to request the removal of snow on a sidewalk. The City will investigate and resolve the condition. Target: 4-8 days, depending on severity of hazard | |
*Vacant or Derelict Building Complaint |
This SR is used to report that a vacant or derelict building that is not meeting the regulations as set out in the Vacant and Derelict Buildings By-law. Target: 10 business days | |
Water Main Leak |
This SR is used to report a water leak on the street or public property. The City will investigate. Target: 1 business day | |

The ServiceStat website is an online resource that provides timely statistical information relating to selected 311 service requests.
The data provided is gathered from the 311 records management system (RMS) used by City Departments. When a Service Request is reported, the details are entered into the 311 RMS and given a case identifier number. Each reported service request is filed by the type of service requested as outlined on the statistical pages provided on this website.
