| Site Description: |
| This prairie is 20.5 acres of "wet" tall grass prairie. Unique plant species to this site include gentians, mountain |
| sneezeweed, whorled milkweed, scratch grass and sweet grass. In July 1995 some Western prairie fringed orchids were |
| rescued from a road construction site near Tolstoi, Manitoba and were transplanted into this site. These plants flowered in |
| June of 1996 and seem to be growing well at their new location. There is a trail to allow people to walk around this site. |
| Interpretive information will be available for the area in future. This native prairie area has been adopted by the Transcona |
| Rotary Club. |
