Ground Squirrel Control 2026
Ground squirrels are making parks and open spaces dangerous.
People can step in their holes and easily get hurt.
This year, we plan to control ground squirrels with a pesticide control program using the following rodenticides:
- Rozol® RTU Field Rodent Bait (chlorophacinone)
- RoConTM Concentrate Rodenticide (Brassica hirta & Sodium Alpha-Olefin Sulfonate)
Treatment would occur on the following athletic fields:
- Beryl Watts Park/Vince Leah Community Centre
- Charleswood Place
- Fairgrove Bay Park
- Shaughnessy Park
- St. James Memorial Sports Park
- Theodore Niitzhotay Fontaine Park
- Weston Memorial Community Centre
- Woodsworth Park
- Valour Community Centre – Clifton Site
We plan to treat these fields between March 2 and October 30, 2026.
