Ground Squirrel Control 2026 - Public Notice

Ground squirrels are making parks and open spaces dangerous.

People can step in their holes and easily get hurt.

This year, we plan to control ground squirrels with a pesticide control program using the following rodenticides:

Rozol® RTU Field Rodent Bait (chlorophacinone)
RoCon^TM Concentrate Rodenticide (Brassica hirta & Sodium Alpha-Olefin Sulfonate)

Treatment would occur on the following athletic fields:

Beryl Watts Park/Vince Leah Community Centre
Charleswood Place
Fairgrove Bay Park
Shaughnessy Park
St. James Memorial Sports Park
Theodore Niitzhotay Fontaine Park
Weston Memorial Community Centre
Woodsworth Park
Valour Community Centre – Clifton Site

We plan to treat these fields between March 2 and October 30, 2026.
