No Mow Zones
These are generally buffer zones close to a river, stream, creek or other water body edge. By not mowing this area it enhances the native vegetation, reduces erosion, improves fish habitat and even the water quality of the river, stream, creek or other water body. No mow zones are also used in some other restoration situations to allow native species to gain a stronger foothold.
Naturalized areas and plants along the Northeast Pioneers Greenway
The portions marked in red have plant species that represent the natural heritage of this area. For that reason these areas will remain uncut most of the year and will be maintained differently than the surrounding areas of turf grass.
