Excessive sand on residential boulevards
Cleaning of sand on residential boulevards is limited to areas where there is an excessive accumulation of sand on the boulevard itself, not the roadway.
Excessive sand is defined as an amount of sand equal to two six-cubic-foot contractor wheelbarrows. If you believe you meet the excessive sand volume criteria, please contact 311. A service request will be generated and the site inspected by crews.
Please review the three examples below to help determine whether your boulevard may meet the excessive sand criteria.

If your boulevard looks like this, it does not meet the excessive sand criteria as it is mostly leaf debris. The property owner would be responsible for cleaning the boulevard in this, or similar cases. - The boulevard in the picture below may meet the excessive sand criteria and warrants a further inspection by City crews.
If your boulevard looks like this, contact 311 to submit a service request and a crew will inspect the site to determine whether it meets the excessive boulevard sand criteria. The sand may or may not be cleaned, depending on the outcome of the site inspection. - The boulevard in the picture below meets the excessive sand criteria.
