In an incident on February 1, 2017, a dump truck and pickup truck are involved in a collision in front of the Comfort Inn on Sargent Avenue and King Edward Street.
A Manitoba Hydro pole is downed and live wires are on the ground. Emergency Services closes southbound King Edward Street to traffic.
The following case study shows how the TMC was able to adjust traffic operations and keep Winnipeggers safe on the affected roads.

TMC closes street segment on Waze.
Closing the segment on Waze activates rerouting which diverts drivers away from delays in the area, relieving some traffic congestion and allowing for a safer working environment for various crews working on repairs.
