Ferry Road & Riverbend CSO Master Plan projects
We are changing the existing combined sewer system to:
- Reduce basement flooding
- Reduce combined sewer overflows
- Improve land drainage (rainwater and snowmelt)
- Support future sewer system upgrades
Construction of Contract 6 started in 2025. We are constructing a new land drainage trunk sewer that will flow into the Assiniboine River.
We estimate the cost of this new sewer will be approximately $36.5 million.
This work is part of the Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Master Plan.
Residents who live in the St. James ward can find out more about current traffic impacts here.
