Request or manage a lane closure
- The City is responsible for approving, and coordinating all closures of sidewalks and roadways in the public right-of-way for both regional and non-regional streets to accommodate private and public projects. Our lane closure map and lane closure list are updated automatically when a request for a closure is approved and scheduled.
- If you are a first-time user you will need to first register with the City at Winnipeg Lane Closures. Once registered, you will have access to the lane closures app, accessible via desktop or mobile device, to submit and manage your lane closure requests throughout the duration of your closure. The Construction Agency User Guide for the desktop app is available for reference.
- Visit the Apple app store and Google Play to download the mobile apps.
Use of street permits are required if you require exclusive access to a portion of a public street(s), whether related to a construction project on private property, for block parties, and conducting business on a boulevard, among other examples.
If related to a construction project, you must initiate a lane closure request and hold valid insurance coverage. All other requests must be made directly through the Use of Streets Permit Office.
