Flooding
Current update
The Province of Manitoba released its March Spring Flood Outlook on March 22, 2023, and indicated that, while there is a major risk of flooding along the Red River, it will operate the Floodway and the Portage Diversion to reduce water levels within Winnipeg.
There are no properties in Winnipeg at risk of flooding at this time. Spring flood risk largely depends on weather conditions from now until the spring melt.
The City works closely with the Province, and continues with its flood mitigation planning and activities.
