Access and Privacy Office

The Access and Privacy Office is responsible for the overall direction all of access to information and protection of privacy matters within the City under The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA). The Access and Privacy Office:

centrally coordinates requests for access to information under FIPPA,
promotes openness and transparency by ensuring consistent and fair access to City records,
undertakes broader City-wide access and privacy initiatives to improve existing processes, and provides corporate leadership to departments on access and privacy matters.
