Is a permit required?
Yes, a plumbing permit is required.
The construction, alteration, repair, extension or renewal of a plumbing system, or replacement of water lines, requires a plumbing permit as per the Winnipeg Building By-law.
A plumbing permit is not required to repair a leak or replace a plumbing fixture, such as a hot water tank, faucet, sink or toilet if they are installed in the same location as the existing fixture and do not require modifications to the plumbing system.
