Frequently Asked Questions
We are doing construction to make the road smoother and drain better. We will do different types of construction in different areas of the road.
We will repair Plessis Road from Fermor Avenue to Dugald Road. We will be removing the asphalt and putting a new, thicker layer of asphalt.
We will:
- Replace the rail tracks so they are smooth
- Have two continuous traffic lanes from the Syminton Overpass off ramp to Gold Sun Drive
- Improve the drainage in front of the houses and construct a new wider pathway
The construction budget is around $5 million. It is part of our annual road renewal program.
We will maintain one lane of traffic in the southbound direction throughout construction. There will be a few times where we have to completely close the road for a few weeks. This is to allow the contractor to pave the road. Truck and traffic detours will be set up. Message boards will also be set up with dates to help let everyone know before the closures happen. Residents that directly front Plessis will still have access.
This road is very narrow, and traffic cannot be maintained during paving. The contractor will be using two pavers, to pave both sides of the road at the same time. This will provide a stronger road and construction will be faster.
Construction will be completed in early September.
