Fermor Avenue Reconstruction & Widening Project - Lagimodière Boulevard to Plessis Road

This project is now complete

Ce projet est terminé

Fermor Avenue is part of the Trans-Canada Highway and a major transportation corridor in southeast Winnipeg with traffic volumes in the range of 70,000 vehicles per day. The section of Fermor Avenue between Lagimodière Boulevard to Plessis Road is in poor condition and needs to be reconstructed and widened. This is a two-year project and includes construction work in both 2019 and 2020. During construction, one lane of traffic in each direction will remain open on Fermor Avenue and intersecting streets, and access to businesses will be maintained.

With traffic reduced to one lane in each direction, motorists should expect significant delays, and are advised to allow additional travel time to get to their destinations, and use alternate routes as required. Motorists are encouraged to download and use the Waze app or real-time traffic and incident updates as well as traffic re-route options.

The project is expected to be completed late in 2020.

Updates
