Ice control activities, including salting and sanding, are undertaken city-wide to improve traction on roadways as conditions warrant on bridge decks and overpasses, as well as P1, P2 and P3 streets as required.

Snow clearing status map
Note: A major plowing operation is triggered when snow accumulation is 5 cm or more.
Please note: Clearing is done according to a street priority system.
During a major snow clearing operation (P1 & P2 streets), completion percentages are updated twice daily at approximately 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Updates are not provided in real time.
When snowfalls span several hours or even days and/or when snow is accompanied by high winds, crews may return to areas previously marked complete to do additional work. In these cases, completion percentages would go down and back up accordingly.
During a residential plowing operation (P3 streets), completion percentages are updated twice daily at approximately 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Reporting missed streets
If the street in question is a P1 or P2 street: please wait to report a missed street until after that area on the map has been marked "Complete." This indicates crews have completed major plowing operations in the area.
If the street in question is a P3 street and a residential plow is in process: please wait to report the missed street until after the residential plowing operation is complete. Crews will return to address missed streets after plowing has been completed city-wide.
If a section has become blocked by drifting snow: report at any time as occasionally a street, sidewalk or pathway segment that has been cleared and marked as complete, may require additional plowing due to high winds.
Report slippery conditions on streets, sidewalks or pathways and indicate whether conditions affect pedestrian, vehicular, wheelchair or bicycle traffic.
