Community Safety and Wellbeing Toolkit
January 2021
Recognizing the needs of the diverse communities across Winnipeg, the Community Safety and Wellbeing Toolkit is designed to empower citizens and community organizations to continue fostering inclusion and safety for all. These tools were created in partnership with community organizations and from the diverse citizen representatives on the Winnipeg Committee for Safety.
Each month of 2021 we will feature a new “tool”, addressing a specific topic or community need. Whether used to spark thoughtful conversations, increase public awareness on important issues, or to enhance knowledge of City of Winnipeg/community resources, it is our sincere hope that you find the contents of this Toolkit valuable and informative.
No two communities are alike - each comes with its own unique history, identity, context and strengths. As such, we recognize that community experts are the people who live within and are invested in community support and mobilization.
The information in this Toolkit is not exhaustive and we continue to expand the topics covered. Follow us on Twitter (@wpgsafety) and stay tuned for important updates as new “tools” are featured. If you have suggestions for another “tool”, we want to hear your feedback! Email us at coordinatorwcfs@winnipeg.ca
