Council Approved Plan
On November 19, 2008, City Council approved the plan to move forward with Chief Peguis Trail Extension (Henderson Highway to Lagimodiere Boulevard) based on Public Private Partnership model.
- Project will provide an efficient, direct route from the Kildonan Settlers Bridge to Lagimodiere Boulevard
- It will improve traffic flow and reduce congestion on existing routes
- Social and Environmental benefits will be achieved through time and fuel savings and new multi-use bicycle path
- Safety will be improved by intersection improvements and reduction in east west truck traffic on residential streets
On July 21, 2010 City Council approved the recommendation of the Winnipeg Public Service to select DBF2 Ltd. as the Preferred Proponent for the Design, Build, Financing and Maintenance of the Grade Separation Alternative for the Chief Peguis Trail Extension Project.
