Please be advised the City of Winnipeg's Vehicles for Hire office will be relocating from the 3rd floor at 495 Portage Ave to the 1st Floor at 495 Portage Ave effective September 25, 2023.

Vehicle inspections will continue to be completed at 495 Portage Ave by VFH enforcement.

Winnipeg WAV Pilot Project update

On January 21st, 2022, the Vehicle for Hire (VFH) office awarded the contract to begin the process for creating the Winnipeg WAV (wheelchair accessible vehicle) Accessible Centralized Dispatch system. The Winnipeg WAV is a pilot project to address improvements to accessible on-demand service, in line with the needs of both citizens and the industry.

This system does not replace your current dispatcher, and will work alongside your regular dispatching system.

Applications to join the centralized dispatch system may now be submitted to the Vehicle for Hire office.
